Capo San Marco is a promontory that stretches over the sea for 1000 meters, is made up of volcanic rocks superimposed on sedimentary rocks. The sea floor is sandy with the presence of basaltic debris precipitated from the cliff.

Capo San Marco ends with a cliff overlooking the sea on top of which the lighthouse is located.

The vegetation is typical of the Mediterranean area, the plants that populate it do not exceed one and a half meters because of the constant exposure to winds coming from every quadrant.
